Whats the betting on the existence of ghosts?

January 18 2004--What’s the betting that ghosts really exist?



Well bookmakers William Hill have decided to find out, by asking the world renowned Phantom or Fraud Project, to carry out seven scientific investigations of their retail units that have reported alleged paranormal activity!



Shops from Edinburgh to Launceston in Cornwall, responded to an article in the company’s internal newsletter asking whether they have ever had any ghostly goings-on in their premises, reporting sightings from full body apparitions, to items moving on their own!



The Phantom or Fraud Project were called in by the company, to investigate the activity, with the first investigation taking place in Launceston in December. The findings at the premises indicated that there was some substance to the claim and the team astonished the branch manager by telling HER about the history of the hauntings and about the ghost of an ex punter who clairvoyant Mike Cannaby described so clearly that all the staff recognised the man as a “regular customer”, who died in the 90’s!



The Phantom or Fraud Project first began to achieve public recognition through their initial TV appearance as the team featured in the Ghost Detectives TV series on UK Horizons in 2001. Since then, they have also appeared on other channels including ITV 1 and 2. They are also the only paranormal investigation team ever to be allowed to carry out an overnight investigation in the Tower of London, for a BBC Worldwide programme.



Head of the Phantom or Fraud Project Ross Hemsworth said today “it is good to see companies like William Hill, taking such a strong interest in this fairly new area of science, and who knows, I may even have a bet on the fact that ghosts really DO exist, myself!”



The Phantom or Fraud Project have made the bold claim that they expect to be able to provide evidence supporting the existence of a human soul or spirit beyond death, within the next 24 months, following exhaustive research and new experiments. Who knows, perhaps now, William Hill will open a book on the statement?
